Irony??

Does anyone else find it ironic, that now that the Republicans in the House of Representatives are going to hold a vote to REPEAL ObamaCare, the only things the Democrats can talk about is Jobs?

Let me get this straight.

You, the Democrats, worked for almost 2 full years to jam ObamaCare down our, the American Public, throats against the will of a majority of us.  This is during the longest period of 9%+ unemployment in the history of the United States of America.  And now you want to say do not worry about the JOB KILLING provisions and uncertainty contained in the 2,000+ pages of a bill that NO ONE has read, worry about the economy and jobs.  Huhhhhh?

Seriously, at this point there have been 111 organizations that represent more than 1 million Americans that have been granted a waiver from complying with ObamaCare.  (UPDATE:  As of December 3, 2010:  The number has increased to 222 organizations and more than 1.5 million Americans, the HHS summary.  That is a 100% increase in the approved waivers, in 3 weeks!!)  The White House will not say how many have applied or how many are planning on applying.  So by my calculations, we have at least 111 people that have wasted spent time applying and we have at least 1 government employee reviewing the applications.  This is being generous on both counts, as I imagine that there at least 20 people in the government and at least 5 people involved in the private sector per application.  So you see, the Democrats are creating jobs!!

To the Democrats:  You have had more than 18 months of 9%+ unemployment to concentrate on jobs and the economy, and have only damaged or ignored both.  For examples, examine the off shore drilling moratorium that you have enacted, or the Obamacare fiasco that NO ONE in the world knows how it will be implemented, but most economists agree that it puts a strain on new hiring.  I suggest you sit down and learn something about how the real world, ie. not D.C., works!!

To the Republicans:  REPEAL the farce that is ObamaCare!!

I welcome any proof that the policies enacted by the Democrats, in the last two years, has created ANY jobs, not related to government.

    1. Well, we could start with Nixon, a felon who should have rotted in prison. In addition to that, he gave America to the health insurance companies who reap their tremendous profits while continuing to figure out ways to deny service to the sick. And if that wasn’t a crime I don’t know what is. But, who do I refer to in regards to our current situation? I refer to the financial institutions who, through pressure from the right – spelled REPUBLICAN – were allowed to get away with loaning money to people who had no demonstrable means of paying it back. And why were they allowed to get away with that? Republican and conservative democratic pressure to either remove or ignore regulations to control these entities.

2&3. By questions 2 & 3 I assume you didn’t read my post at: http://worldtake.wordpress.com/2010/12/04/the-big-ponzi-scheme/ about why I think the free enterprise system has been a ponzi scheme from the beginning. OK technically our financial system is not an exact ponzi scheme, as was pointed out in an early response to that post.
You probably will not agree with my assertions.
When I read through your cover page, I find nothing I can agree with and I am almost certain that were you to take the time to read through all of the blogs on my page, any of those that state my political viewpoint, you would thoroughly disagree with. So, that being written, why don’t we just agree to disagree and not waste either one of the others time.

Worldtake, thanks for your reply. As for your response, I have some further questions:
      1) I will agree that I think Insurance companies as a whole are a scam. But I have a question for you. Have the Democrats done ANYTHING, but help them as well?? I think not. So, to place the entire heaping of blame on your supposed “right side, Republicans”, is either extremely naive, foolish, disingenuous and/or nefarious. This is the problem in the current political climate. Everyone seems to want to place blame on a particular side, usually not their own, while completely ignoring the root problem. I DO NOT CARE whose fault it is!! How are YOU going to fix it? If you say that only liberal Socialists can fix it, I will dismiss that outright and move along, because you cannot be serious!!
      2) When you say “pressure from the right”, have you done ANY research?? Seriously?? Are you claiming that Clinton, Dodd and Rangel, as well as many other Democrats, had NOTHING to do with any pressure on the financial institutions?? Really?? Please look into Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac. Investigate who ran them and their political leanings. See where they made their “political donations”. Don’t take my word for it, do the research. I KNOW what you will find, but apparently you would rather spout false talking points. If you are immune to the facts and truth then there is no cure.
      3) I am sorry that you so pessimistic. I am not. First, there have been many studies that refute your current oil hypothesis. As a point of reference I graduated from the Colorado School of Mines, the #1 Petroleum Engineering school in the world, and have many friends working in the petroleum industries. Are the easy oil fields becoming depleted? Yes. Are there more oil fields being found every year? Yes. The price of oil will continue to increase, unless a more efficient method of extraction is discovered. But we are currently NOT running out of oil. And at some point, oil will become expensive enough that competing alternatives WILL become available.
      4) As for your post “the big ponzi scheme”, you are correct, I do not agree.

“Continual growth cannot occur because it violates the laws of thermodynamics. No system has ever or can ever continue to grow and continue to function — from the tiniest clocks to largest Galaxies.”

First, having taken a few semesters of advanced thermodynamics, I do not know what “laws” are being violated. Please explain, what “laws of thermodynamics” are being violated? Or do you enjoy throwing around big words that make it appear that you are knowlegable?? And no one ever calls you on it. Well, I am, and I feel I have the background to dispute your dubious claims.
Second, the “system” that the human race is a part of, the Universe, is itself continuing to expand, and we, the human race, are not even close to reaching a limit of resources. The size of the human race is a direct correlation to resource conversion. We are a small (and by small, I mean smaller than the head of a pin in our galaxy) speck in the scheme of things, and have an unlimited potential. So, I will dispute that we cannot continue to grow.
Finally, you cannot agree with anything that is on this blog?? Seriously?? You do not think that there is a problem with government employees NOT paying taxes?? These are the “taxes” that you so willingly spend in your “social programs” and claim that there is not enough!! Really?? would you like to amend your statement?? I am sorry that you would like to part ways, as I think there is much we could agree upon, but if that is your wish, good luck in your endeavors.

So, it was Democrats that are responsible for the current economic crisis that caused so much job loss and not the predominantly republican criminals who foisted the ponzi scheme on us of loaning money to people without ensuring that they pay it back?

    • Steve Says:

      Worldtake,
Please identify your sources, so we may begin this discussion. I want to know three things:
      1) Who are the “Republican criminals”?
      2) What is the “ponzi scheme”?, and
      3) When was this “ponzi scheme” started?
Please be specific. If you can not be specific and refuse to stop name calling (“republican criminals”? you have been warned in the past and apologized.), I will not approve of any more of your comments. I want to have an intelligent debate but first we must agree on specifics, so please continue.
