Sometimes I just have to laugh. Apparently, Rep. Bachmann , and others have implied that the Muslim Brotherhood is infiltrating the U.S. Government and have put Disgraced Ex. Rep. Anthony
“The Unit” “The Package” “The Johnson” “The Snake” (they just write themselves) WEINER’s (no really WEINER is his real name) wife (Huma Abedin, she didn’t want the last name of WEINER) into the controversy. I have included links to the letters that Rep. Bachmann has sent, as well as different reports from ABC News, Anderson Cooper 360, and the Washington Post. Please notice that I have included exhibits from both sides of the argument. Also, I have NO IDEA if the accusations are true are not, you will have to decide for yourself.
But, that is not the reason that I write this piece, or why I was laughing. I also read this editorial from FoxNews by Edward Rollins (who supposedly used to work for Rep. Bachmann), chastising Rep. Bachmann for her letters and quotes. With the following quote:
“Having worked for Congressman Bachman’s campaign for president, I am fully aware that she sometimes has difficulty with her facts, but this is downright vicious and reaches the late Senator Joe McCarthy level. (Joe McCarthy falsely made claims that there were large numbers of Communists and Soviet spies inside the State Department in the early 1950’s. On December 2, 1954, the Senate voted to “condemn” McCarthy on two counts.)”(my emphasis)
And this article from Politico:
“This calls to mind the McCarthy hearings — an unfortunate, and widely condemned, exercise in guilt by association.”
Anyone?? Anyone?? Anyone?? Bueller?? Bueller??
This would be fine, and not funny at all, if we were still in 1954!! But we are NOT, and much has happened since then. Such as:
From the BBC (a lean left organization): “But the release of classified documents reveals that Joseph McCarthy was right after all about the extent of Soviet infiltration into the highest reaches of the U.S government.”
Or from Accuracy in Media (a lean right organization): ““We now know that he was 100 percent correct,” Evans said of McCarthy’s charges.”
Or from National Review (a lean right organization): “What makes McCarthyism so hard to discuss is that McCarthy behaved like a jerk, but he was also right.”
Or from WND: “Although Joseph McCarthy was one of the most demonized American politicians of the last century, new information — including half-century-old FBI recordings of Soviet embassy conversations — are
showing that McCarthy was right in nearly all his accusations.”
So….I wonder if Mr. Rollins or Politico see the humor in using the “McCarthyism” charge, in order to show people that Rep. Bachmann is “falsely” accusing someone of something, while history has shown that McCarthy was RIGHT??
Sometimes I just have to laugh at the ignorance of people who are being paid to do a job.
As a side note, Mr. Rollins, if you truly were the “Campaign Chief” for Rep. Bachmann you should have more respect and class than to air something like this in public with no substantive PROOF that Rep. Bachmann is wrong.
And a note to anyone thinking of hiring Mr. Rollins, take note, he will STAB you in the back even if he has NO SPECIFIC INFORMATION to dispute what you have said and is disloyal!!!
