Fraud, Waste and Abuse of Tax Dollars…..

September 21, 2011

Today there are a few stories about Fraud, Waste and Abuse in our government.

From the Daily Caller:

“But in October 2010, Gregory H. Friedman, Inspector General at the Department of Energy, issued a scathing report on Illinois’ weatherization program funded with stimulus dollars. Among his findings were that 14 out of 15 “weatherized” homes failed final inspection because of poor workmanship and 12 out of 15 homes contained substandard work that could have “resulted in significant property damage or injury to the homeowners.”

That means that the government PAID someone to “fix something” and LESS THAN 10% passed FINAL INSPECTION!!!

or from the Daily Mail:

“At a single Washington, D.C., conference, the department spent $4,200 on 250 muffins — more than $16 apiece, a shocking report has revealed.”

$16 PER MUFFIN!!!

and a video from FoxNews.

I have a nice simple solution to this obvious fraud, waste and abuse.  I want to know, BY NAME and picture the people that approved these monies.  EVERYONE that was responsible from the TOP all the way down to the last person that signed for the work.  Post their name and photo on the Government Fraud, Waste and Abuse website.  Also, ANY CONTRACTOR that “did” the work should have a review done that shows their “incompetence”!!  We should demand that these names and pictures be shown on all news programs as they become available.

Privacy, you say??  These people WORK FOR US, they need to be held accountable.  In fact, if their name shows up on the list more than 3 times, all responsibility for disbursing funds should be removed and they should be demoted to JANITOR!!!  There is 9.1% unemployment.  I am sure, that some of those people would do a better job!!

Justice in the U.S. Military???

May 7, 2010

Let me start this post by first stating that I respect and admire everyone who has worn, wears or will wear a uniform serving in the U.S. military.  The job that they do is difficult and dangerous, and they are not compensated, monetarily, enough.  With that said, I want anyone to tell me if the current situation in the military is as it should be???

First here is an article from the Navy Times, concerning three Navy SEALS charged with abusing a TERRORIST.  I would like to highlight a line in the article:

One defense attorney said they had refused to accept non-judicial punishment (this “they” refers to the three Navy SEALS, my note), administrative actions that some in the military may consider as an admission of guilt.

And here is an article from Fox News, and here is a highlight:

The three, all members of the Navy’s elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called a captain’s mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.

So, to translate for you, these three HEROES refused to be disciplined for doing their job well and requested a court-martial hearing.  If they had taken the easy path, they would have had a large negative mark on their records, that would have affected their promotions, assignments, etc. in the future, FOREVER.  Their commanding officers, all the way up to the commander-in-chief, President Obama, wanted them to take the easy path.

In contrast, here is an article in MSNBC concerning Maj. Hassan (the Fort Hood murderer).

So, let me get this straight.  IF you do your job as you were trained, and you do it well, you will be disciplined or court martialed.  But, IF you do your job poorly and write about shooting your fellow soldiers, you will promoted to MAJOR, at least.

What can WE do about this situation???

P.S. – Thankfully, today, the last of the three Navy Seals was NOT court martialed.  I am proud that they stood up for what was RIGHT, and they were found to not have done anything wrong.  Thank you for your courageous service.
