Are people OVERPAID??

August 7, 2013

WTF!!!!

Revealed: How Newark mayor Cory Booker put CNN boss Jeff Zucker’s son, 14, on the board of his video start up… and even gave him stock options” – Daily Mail

The kid is 14!!!  And he is NO GENIUS!!!  The ruling class is no longer attempting to hide their payoffs.  This is absolutely disgusting.

If this isn’t an “attempt” to buy good coverage, then the United States is truly lost…

Can you say TOTAL CORRUPTION??

Are People Overpaid??

December 20, 2012

Sometimes I just can’t get enough of California!!!  If you have missed any of my “Are People Overpaid” posts, please look through the archives.

Today, the same as YESTERDAY, let’s stay in California:

County to keep paying jailed assessor’s $197,000 salary – for now” – LA Times

“Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday to discuss the fate of Assessor John Noguez, but did not remove him from office and will allow him to continue receiving his $197,000 salary while he’s in jail.”

Huh???  I had to read some more of the article, but here are the main points:

1)  Noguez, who was elected assessor in 2010.

2)  Noguez has been in jail since mid-October.

3)  Noguez is charged with taking $185,000 in bribes from a tax consultant — and campaign fundraiser — to lower property taxes for his clients.

4)  While on leave, he got a cost-of-living raise in July, boosting his annual salary from $192,000 to $197,000.

Here is a quote from the article:

“Elected officials in California typically can’t be removed from office unless they are convicted of a job-related crime or voted out in a recall.”

OK, I can understand that, I mean if you were in “politics”, one of your enemies could get you falsely charged.  I don’t want anyone to lose their job just because they have been charged.

BUT, here is where I have a problem.  THIS GUY IS STILL GETTING PAID…..to do NOTHING related to his JOB for AT LEAST 6 months and COUNTING!!!

And people wonder why California is going BANKRUPT?!!

I’ll leave you with another quote, my highlights:

“Noguez, who was elected assessor in 2010, has not worked since June, when he placed himself on paid leave of absence to concentrate on preparing a legal defense to the corruption allegations swirling around him.”

P.S. – I am going to place myself on “paid leave of absence”, do you think my employer will go for that???

Finally, Rangel will have to answer questions!!!

July 22, 2010

Finally, the corrupt, lying, thief, Rangel has been charged with ethics violations.  Now we can only hope that the trial is fair.  I’m still not holding my breath.

And now that that investigation is finished they should have time for Dodd, Murtha, Pelosi, etc.

Eric Holder in Afghanistan…

July 1, 2010

Here is an article about a trip that Eric Holder is currently on from the Huffington Post.

I thought that was interesting, you know, with everything that he (Eric Holder) need to do here in the US.  Such as, file against the Arizona Immigration Law, figure out how to thwart a Federal Judge and reinstate the drilling ban, file criminal charges against British Petroleum, figure out how to circumvent the 2nd Amendment ruling from the Supreme Court, etc.  What could he be doing in Afghanistan?

Here is another article concerning the same trip, from MSN.  Following are some quotes from the article.  Bold is my thoughts on the quotes.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was in the Afghan capital to talk with officials about improving the justice system and fighting corruption (such as selling a Senate Seat) Wednesday, a day after Afghanistan’s top prosecutor defended himself against allegations that he’s being pressured not to pursue cases against powerful figures (such as the New Black Panthers in Philadelphia).

The Obama administration and other donor nations, who need Karzai to be perceived as a credible partner (doesn’t Karzai need Obama to be perceived as a credible partner), are pushing him to clean up bribery, graft and corruption (such as selling a Senate Seat, or dismissing Tax Cheats, so they can work in your administration).

“Fighting corruption and supporting the rule of law (such as Bankruptcy Lawin Afghanistan are top priorities for this administration, and we will continue to assist the Afghan government in creating and sustaining the effective criminal justice system to which the Afghan people are entitled,” Holder said in a statement issued by the U.S. Justice Department in Washington.

Let me know what you think.

Obama gives Karzai Corruption Ultimatum

November 4, 2009

This article has me thinking about irony and a lack of character at the highest levels of government.

How can Obama, with a straight face, tell another leader to take care of the corruption in their government, when HE, “the anointed ONE”, cannot take care of the corruption in his own, including himself??

If you have not been paying attention, search ACORN, SEIU, Rangel, Dodd, Frank, Geithner, ethics investigation.  There are many more, but this should be a good start.
